It was to a gmail account if that helps any. Although it let me change it at my messageboard without any trouble. It also let me change it at freewebs on one account but not on another but that could be because the e-mail address that I have registered for that account is now defunct.
I dont' know what's going on

Your membership profile still exists, but the name field is blank, and the e-mail field only shows an '@' symbol - nothing else.
I'll see if I can edit your profile, and restore your username and e-mail address. I'll try the username first.

Okay it's a valid account once again, but I needed to enter an e-mail address - I put test@test.com just to get it up and running again, but now it has sent a validation e-mail to there.
I think I'm right in saying you should now be able to login and it will prompt you to enter an e-mail address to which it will send another new activation code - the one sent to test.com will automatically be superceded.

Ok what username did you put? I entered SpyMaster and it said your username is now spymaster so I entered that and what had been my password and it said invalid combination. Has my password also changed?

I put spymaster as the username, because that was what I had to put in the profile url (after a little trial and error) to find you - because there was a space for you on the member list, but the name field was blank.
I'm still thinking what to do next.

Help!

The easiest solution is for Alice or I to modify your profile and add your new e-mail address. That way, you can click on 'Retrieve Password' at the login stage and it will be e-mailed to you.
Then you can login yourself and fix everything. As Global Mod, Alice can do all that if you want to e-mail her with your e-mail address, if you don't want to post it on here. There may be another solution but that's the most obvious one.
Well there is another solution actually - which is for Alice or me to edit your profile and change your password, and then PM it to you on your own forum. I'm a bit wary of changing the password at this stage though, before the activation code has been entered.

Right, that's done. You don't need to click on 'Retrieve Password', because when I entered the new one, it automatically gave this message:
Since you have changed your email address, a new activation code and password has been sent to your email address. Please check your email for your new information. You will not be able to login to your account without it.
You should receive it within the next 10 minutes. Remember that your email provider may filter email into your Junk Mail folder, so you may find your activation code there.
