Have you changed the length of the background image, as there is a 3/4 inch green trip along the bottom if the page? It could also be my pc, as I've just done a complete Windows re-install etc, and my monitors on the way out. But it appears to be the background, and if I scroll up it scrolls up as well.

No, Mongoose, I haven't made any changes - the length of the background gradient is still 690 pixels. I'll take a guess that you're using a high resolution setting on your monitor, in which case that will explain it. At resolutions up to 1024x768, there shouldn't be any blank band at the bottom of the page, but above that - e.g. 1152 x 864 or higher, then a blank band would indeed become visible and would remain fixed at the foot of the page, regardless of how much you scroll. I could 'fix' it by using a longer gradient, so I might do that.

That'll be it, I'm using 1152 x 870.

I increased the gradient vertical size to 740 pixels so the blank band should have disappeared now, Mongoose. Also, it's a smoother gradient, so the horizontal bands between the different-coloured segments are no longer visible, so that's an improvement.
If anybody is using an even higher resolution than Mongoose (1152 x 870) and therefore still sees a blank band, let me know and I'll increase the vertical size again - it only takes two minutes.

OK, thanks Steve. Another improvement to an already brilliant board ;D

It's me again ;D (Everybody moan) I was wondering whether the board has custom icons. Not the quote reply etc, the ones on the left, such as send PM etc. If so have you moved them recently, as they aren't loading reliably (Sometimes don't load) today?
Edit: After a bit more browsing, almost all the icons don't seem to be loading properly, with the exception of the quote, modify etc.

Ah yes, I see what you mean - most things are normal from here except right now I can't see all the formatting images above this 'Reply' box. That must be a problem at the Proboards image server. Yep, they must be having problems because I just got a '500 Server Error' message when I tried to check their 'server status' page, which is at www.proboards.com/server_status.html - this forum is on server 3, which is what the digit '3' signifies, in the forum url: stanies.proboards3.com/Some of the forum buttons are custom-made - that's all of the blue gradient ones, and they're hosted at Photobucket so they should be okay but all the others are the standard Proboards ones, so they're likely to be intermittent until the server is back to normal. That shouldn't take long - they provide a very reliable service these days, and they have a very active support forum at support.proboards.com/index.cgi so I'm sure they're well aware of the problem. One good thing about the last Proboards software upgrade was that they made full use of the 'Alt text' attribute for all of the forum graphics, so even if every graphic on the forum fails to load, it remains fully useable because the alternate text will be displayed in its place, and that wasn't the case on the previous version.

Indeed, it's running well again. I did notice text instead of icons, a worthwile upgrade!
